About Public Speaking Events in Liverpool, Wirral and Merseyside

What do we do?

Whilst from time to time the club organises debates, educational workshops, contests and guest nights, the bedrock of the club are meetings in two halves. The first half of the meeting comprises members delivering prepared speeches. Whilst members chose the subject matter, each speech focuses on a different key skill, such as speech construction, use of gestures, vocabulary & word pictures, use of humour etc helping members to master all elements of good communication.

After a short intermission, the second half of the evening is devoted to Topics. Topics give members the opportunity to develop their impromptu speaking skills, that is speaking off the cuff, with no preparation. This is an important skill for both business and social settings.

Everyone who speaks is evaluated. Positive, constructive feedback is seen as essential to becoming a good communicator, and learning how to give quality feedback is an invaluable skill to develop.

The whole evening is a mix of learning, developing and fun.
